Chair-exhibition for Rumas A/S, Bella Center, 1999

Exhibition of three chair-designs of mine for Rumas A/S. The challenge was a low-ceilinged, boring room without day-light.

The solution, I came up with, was simple. The room was painted even darker – completely black – and the artificial lighting was concentrated on the displayed chairs, the podiums and the huge portrait-photo on the back-wall.

The very low podiums – made of thin hoovering Eternit-boards from the home-city of Rumas (Aalborg) - was positioned in a rhythmic, off-set manner, with references to stepping stones in a traditional Japanese garden.
